My daughters bought me my first drone for a birthday present in 2017. I charged it up and flew it indoors the very same day; the dogs are still having nightmares about it! But I was hooked and, like most hobbies, the time and money spent on it went up and up until here we are; my hobby is now a business. I have grown up surfing and exploring everything the outdoors has to offer. My wife and daughter have their own horses so the beach, surfing, horse riding and moorlands have been my test subjects. There have been a few heart stopping moments on the journey so far with drones nearly ditching in the sea or losing signal 200 metres off Baggy Point in North Devon but it's all been a great learning curve and, even now, I always seem to learn something with each new project.
I hold the CAA approved A2 CofC qualification which allows drones to be flown close to people and in built up areas, and for commercial use. Naturally, all operations are fully insured with public liability insurance by drone specialists, Coverdrone.
We use the DJI Mavic 2 series of drones which offer 2 different camera types depending on the situation:-

Mavic 2 Pro for most applications with a very high quality Hasselblad camera

Mavic 2 Zoom where the drone flight and noise could cause a problem e.g. following horses and riders
We also have a DJI Mini 2; a smaller, lighter drone that can operate closer to people and in tight areas.
